Style T2 thermocouple designs consist of a metallic sheath integrally attached to a connection head in most cases by the use of mounting fillings. These types of thermocouples are mainly designed for use with thermowells, which protect the thermocouple element and allow for replacement of the element without a subsequent shut down of the process. This makes it an ideal candidate for petrochemical and power applications. The most common mounting configurations for use with thermowells can be found in the Fittings Chart.

Many options are available for the connection head. Standard conduit connection is 3/4" NPT. The most common configurations are outlined in the T2 Selection Chart.
