Style R1 is the most
basic of RTD designs consisting of a metallic
tube and flexible leadwire. The sheath is
composed of seamless tubing of varying size
and material configurations. The leadwire
is soldered to the resistive element and
installed into the tubing down to the inner
threshold. Transition fittings are not required
for RTD assemblies. The exposed upper portion
of the tubing is sealed with an epoxy resin.
Many options are available
for leadwire insulation and termination
methods. The most common configurations
are outlined in the R1
Selection Chart.
